DIY Nail Art Projects for Beginners

Polka Dot Nails:

To protect your nails, use a base coat. When the nail polish has dried, choose a contrasting color and dip the tip of a bobby pin into it.

By gently pushing the rounded end of the bobby pin onto your nails, you may make polka dots. Allow the dots to dry before applying a glossy top coat.

Gradient Nails:

Allow a base coat to dry before proceeding. Choose two or more nail polish colors that complement each other well.

Allow the lightest shade to dry as the base color. Using a makeup sponge, apply a few drops of the darker shade(s) near to each other.

To produce a gradient look, gently dab the sponge onto your nails in a rolling motion.

Repeat the dabbing motion with the darker shade(s) until the desired gradient is achieved. Seal the design with a top coat.

Floral Nails:

Allow a base coat to dry before proceeding. Apply a light-colored nail polish as the base color to your nails. Dip a toothpick or a thin nail art brush in a contrasting color.

Draw little flower petals in a circular design using dots or short strokes. Use a contrasting color to add a little dot in the middle of each blossom. Rep this step to make many flowers on each nail.

Striped Nails:

Allow a base coat to dry before proceeding. Choose two or more complementary nail polish colors. Allow one color to dry as the basis.

Stripe your nails with striping tape (available at beauty supply stores) or thin adhesive tape. Allow the second color to dry for a few seconds after applying it over the tape.

Remove the tape carefully to reveal the striped design. Seal the design with a top coat.
