McDonald's Is Launching a New Restaurant Brand

McDonald's lovers rejoice! The fast-food chain is planning a new outlet. These new restaurants will be inspired by a decades-old extraterrestrial mascot

CNBC stated that CosMc, a six-armed McDonald's alien character from the 1980s and 1990s, inspired the new idea. McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski

told investors on an earnings call yesterday that CosMc's will be a "small format concept with all the DNA of McDonald's but its own unique personality.

Kempczinski noted that the company aims to test the new restaurant brand "in a small handful of sites in a limited geography beginning early next year."

Customers must wait for CosMc's specifics. Kempczinski said McDonald's December investors day will provide more information.

McDonald's expansion and innovation goals include CosMc's. The viral Grimace Shake promotion, significant visitor visitation, and pricing hikes helped the company

outperform profitability and sales estimates in the second quarter of 2023. Kempczinski said on Thursday's results call that McDonald's continuing customer appeal

"has earned us the right to begin accelerating the pace of restaurant openings in our major markets over the next several years."

He didn't say how many and where McDonald's would open in the following years. However, he said that the company saw great potential for expansion

"Our footprint reflects what the population looked like probably 20 or 30 years ago," Kempczinski added. "So you end up finding there's a number of places around the U.S.
