Nebraska Cruises Past Mistake-Prone Indiana

Nebraska won 86-70 at home in Big Ten Conference action on Wednesday night in Lincoln, Nebraska, behind 28 points from Keisei Tominaga and 27 points from 19 Indiana turnovers.

The 6-foot-2 senior guard scored 18 of his 28 points in the second half on 9-of-15 shooting and four 3-pointers.

Nebraska (12-2, 2-1 Big Ten) ended a seven-game losing streak at Indiana (10-4, 2-1) despite being outrebounded (36-29) and outscored in the paint (26-24).

Nebraska's Rienk Mast scored nine points in his first game since Dec. 18 minor knee surgery. Brice Williams and C.J. Wilcher each had three 3-pointers.

With 16:40 left, Jamarques Lawrence's 3-pointer pushed Nebraska's lead to 15 from 41-33 at halftime. Indiana drew within 55-47 with 13:12 left on a Malik Reneau 3.

Kel'el Ware, who missed the previous game due to a positive COVID test, scored 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Reneau had 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. 

Sixth-year senior Xavier Johnson returned to Indiana but went scoreless in 15 minutes in his first game since Nov. 26.

Nebraska took a 7-0 lead after five minutes and held it for 13 minutes by turning nine Indiana turnovers into 14 points.
